Tantiwatra school was known as “Preamrudee kindergarten”school which was located at 184/1 Na Nakorn Utit Road, Tambon Phosadeja Amphur Meang Nakornsrithammarat province. Preamrudee kindergarten” school was set up on May 11,1965 by Mrs. Rattana Pinyo whom was the license receiver. In 2002, Mrs. Rattana Pinyo died so Mr. Somsak Ping became the new license receiver.
On June 26th 2002, Mr. Somsak Ping sold the company to Mr. Prasop Tantiukos whom became the manager of the board and assigned Miss. Sopa Lohakajornpan the position of manager and principal.
In 2004, Preamrudee kingergarten school moved to Thung Song province, tambon charmai Amphur Thung song, Nakornsrithammarat. Mr. Prasop Tantiukos bought bigger grounds for the school and re-named the school to be known as “Tantiwatra school.”
Miss Sopa Lohakajornpan resigned from the position of acting principal and manager after installing Mr. Surapan Sahaton as principal on November 1st 2004. Mr. Surapan Sahaton was taken seriously ill and therefore, had to resign shortly from his position. As such, Tantiwatra school appointed a new principal Mrs. Supattra Suebpradit.
Tantiwatra school opened in May,2004. The first year of enrolment for kindergarten amounted to 152 children and for primary, the total enrolment amounted to 120 children, totally 272 for the entire school.
Introduction of English Enrichment Programme:
Tantiwatra School is proud to establish the English Enrichment Programme this year in May’2008. The main origins of this programme stems from our school’s belief in each child’s innate learning abilities. Tantiwatra school opened in April 2004 with the belief that each child possesses multiple intelligence awaiting to be unleashed.
With the creation of our English Enrichment Programme, we are able to give our students a conducive and rich learning environment with native language English teachers that will assist our students with English literacy and fluency in English.
Our school has achieved many successes over the last few years and we are confident that this programme will create Thailand’s future leaders, professionals and businessmen.
Vision of the EEP programme:
The main vision of the EEP programme is to developing English language fluency in our EEP young student community to internationally recognized standards ( in conjunction with Cambridge ESOL) so that our students will be well equipped with the essential language skills to ensure that they will be able to ready for overseas study or international world of work.
We are committed to preparing our students to become well rounded bilingual global citizens of the world.
Details of EEP curriculum:
EEP programme curriculum follows the curriculum standards set by the Thai Ministry of Education for all subject areas.
Students of the EEP programme follow the SAME curriculum as that of students in normal curriculum apart from the fact that the following subjects are taught in English as a medium and language of instruction:
1) English language, 5 hrs per week
2) Mathematics, 6 hours per week
3) and Science 1 hr per week
4) English club 1 hr per week
Additional activities that the children will be exposed to in English language instruction:
• Outdoor Summer camp at a resort with native language teachers
• Speech and Drama – role play activities
Students are given more exposure to learning English as 3 subjects are taught in English as a medium and they are given more opportunities to becoming fluent in English through playing games, singing songs, engaging in activities in English.
Parents are rest assured that students are both fluent in Thai and English in these subjects; as subjects such as Maths and Science are taught at a conceptual level whereby students are taught concepts so that they can explain it in either language.
Over 70% of the curriculum will still be in Thai language. Subjects as such as Thai, Computer, Social Studies, Home Economics and Music will still be taught in Thai.
Tantiwatra school sets up extra classes during Term 2 of each term to assist with students whom are getting ready for NT( National Standards test set by the government) so students will be ready for taking their NT exams in Thai.
Enrichment time: We have also allocated enrichment time to allow Thai home room teachers and English teachers to use this time effectively to review work done with students should they need extra attention in a particular area.

Standards and Benchmarks for English Teaching at the EEP:
What this means is that the English Enrichment Programme at Tantiwatra School follows the standards and benchmarks set for teaching English as set by Cambridge ESOL examinations, United Kingdom.
Cambridge ESOL examinations is the world’s leading range of qualifications for learners and teachers of English. It is the international standard that will prepare students for study abroad or international world of work.
University of Cambridge ESOL examinations (Cambridge ESOL) is part of the University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate (UCLES), which has provided examinations in English for speakers of other language since 1913.
EEP’s English curriculum also consist of the Government curriculum as outlined by the Ministry of Education, Thailand
All students are exposed to both curriculums and as such the English language curriculum helps students become lifelong learners, creative thinkers and problem solvers whom can communicate effectively in English.
Students will be ready for testing for Young Learners examinations (YLE)- Starters level by Primary 2 level. Consequently, students will be prepared for the whole range of YLE testing by the time they reach Primary 6.

Entrance into EEP programme:
We are open for enrolment for EEP programme from Jan of every year. Enrolment is subject to students taking an entrance exam in 3 subjects. Enrolment is on a first come first serve basis. (There will be an additional cost for taking the entrance exam).
Foundation Course for EEP:
All students commencing their 1st year at EEP programme is required to take a Foundation course for EEP during the April holiday period. The cost of this course is an additional expense.
The foundation course aims to providing students with the necessary foundation English skills to ensuring that students are able to read and understand simple instructions by the native language teacher. It is also a transition course to enable students to have the appropriate foundation skills to be able to embark on the EEP programme. This course will prepare students for using English as a medium of instruction in the areas of English, Math and Science teaching.

Tantiwatra School’s academic staff are fully qualified and experienced in their fields. All English native language teachers possess a good degree from a reputable university from their home country and have several years of experience in primary school teaching. We hire mostly experienced staff whom have had many years of experience already teaching at another EP school or an international school.
The teachers in the Primary school are supported by a team of qualified Thai teaching assistants. All Thai home room teachers possess a good degree and have experience teaching students in home room subjects.
All staff stay up to date with developments in education and participate in on going training organized by the school. Experts from education or Cambridge ESOL are frequently invited to conduct training programmes for staff.
