I had to find a bed here, because it was getting late and the map showed fewer settlements, the further Westward I went. After some searching, I was lucky to find a hot pot of tea and a simple place - no, not this one in the picture. ;))
Very beautiful scenery, small house, how beautiful, spring has arrived .. Congratulations ..
Wishes, greetings from Turkey .. Ismail
Thank you very much, Ismail! The photo is from June 2008. Best greetings, May
Oh so nice to see pictures from your 2008 venture May...Good you found better lodging than this shed here.... Best wishes, Peter
Lieber Peter, vielen Dank für deine Besuche und Kommentare! I am happy, someone reads my texts below the photos. :) Yes, the lodging I found was a little better than that one. ;) In this region it's not very easy to find an accomodation as a single person. Warm regards, May
I also read your texts below the photos May:)... and in fact it's a part of the picture, sometimes with very interesting information, thank you:) Cheers, Jurgis
Jurgis, I am very pleased, that you are interested in the information as well, thank you very much! This picture above is close to a military airport and a nuclear plant. Besides there are only a few towns and villages on this part of the coast. I enjoyed the long days in June and I guess, Lithuania must be about the same latitude as the North of Scotland. Warm regards, May
Thanks May. I've never been north of Inverness. It's very pretty up there.
Hank, thank you! I love the solitude up in the North, the winds and the bright nights. I went to sleep at midnight, when it was still bright and awoke at 3 am, when it was bright again. :) Best wishes, May
Thanks for your response May, I see this photo is taken at the latitude 58°, Vilnius is at 54°, so there was a little bit brighter. Last year I was in beginning of July near Kuusamo in Finland which is at 65°, that was already impressive, in fact no darkness at all:) Kind regards, Jurgis
Jurgis, thanks for coming back! I found it already impressing in the North of Scotland, how very much more it must be in the higher North. Best regards, May
Cher Domi, je te remercie pour ta visite! Oui, je l'aimais beaucoup, il y avait un vent énorme, parfait pour produire de l'énergie. Amitiés, May
Thank you for your visits to my country have done. I hope you like.

Thank you, Murat! Yes, I like your country very much. I have met very friendly people. Greetings, May
Ma Grannie,s Hieland Hame, May.LOL cheers scally.
:) Hi Scally, thanks!
With the windmills doing their bit to reduce carbon footprints, it suggests the roof patches may be solar panels. The hut may have had hot running water and a warm place to stay, May!! LOL
It really is wonderful to wander through Thurso and along the coasts of Scotland with you, then plunge again into the beauty of Engadin!
LOL! Maybe there would even have been access to the internet and a soft bed of straw, Ian! Those few photos from Scotland are just to tease you. The others will have to wait to be uploaded till maybe next year. I don't know yet exactly, where I will go to this summer. First of all I want to see my two grandchildren in Northengland. One thing I know, there will be some more photos to upload during the next 5 years or so. :)
My warmest regards, May
