Main building of Swayambunath is the big stupa. Above the white hemisphere is the golden cube with the eyes of Buddha which can see in all four directions. The nose is the Newari sign for the digit "1" and symbolizes the unity.

The levels of the roof symbolizes the stages of enlightenment and the top umbrella is the Nirvana.
