The tree has definitely seen better days. Dead trees like this one are actually protected as valuable wildlife habitat. Last time I posted this tree, it was being used by a Peregrine Falcon. The crows seem to prefer something more flexible. It's the only dead snag on the ridge, behind a row of houses, so I can only see it from a few spots along the road.
