I was stationed in Aqaba in 1948 with the British army, and when there it was desert all round, only a few arab tents,and nothing where Eilat is now WHAT A DIFFERENCE in those 50 years. Georgeiv

I worked in Eilat back in 1982 at the Queen Of Sheba hotel which was the first hotel ever built in Eilat it was one of the best times of my life.... :-) A young traveller the nightlife was brilliant the Red Lion bar Moshes bar ( below the law court's ) The legendary ( to some ) it was minging... a hovel so many travellers in those days a different era.... Fantastic times & memories...... :-)
