Well captured, Galatas! My favourite bird, and I'm hoping mine comes back to nest again. Theolfa

A pair of Wrens are among the regulars in my garden. The Robins are showing interest in my tool shed , and the Blackbirds are well advanced with their nest in my hedge. Hopefully the Wrens will find a suitable location as well.

As soon as the Robins return, I'll know it's Spring, then the others will arrive & I'll hear the dawn chorus again. I can hardly wait. (-30 with the windchill this am)

Brief, and to the point. I never yet met an Irish person who could resist embellishing. Cheers! Theolfa.

Picture this scenario. A small garden pond , an arched trellis next to the pond and joined to the house wall. Clematis growing over the trellis.

Wrens nested in the clematis on the pond side. We had to put a fine mesh net over the pond in case the fledglings fell in and drowned. Luckily all ended well.

Not in my garden though.

I think the nicest I have seen with my own eyes in the wild was a bee eater. That was in Greece.

Our own Kingfisher takes some beating though
