I think the B&W is more effective for a lot of these early spring shots ... so little colour right now, so its improtant to pick the subjects with some tonal differentiation. I like the high contrast white water and the black behind the sign.

Nice shot btw. A sepia and it might be 100 years old!!!

PS ... the ice is starting to break up on the big ole lake!

Thanks man, I totally agree! I love b&w and sepia, I've only just started messing around with sepia. I had the itch to get out and take a few HDRs so this is what we came up with, I have b&w versions of most of em but thought that I would slap up some color as well. Cheers man!

We had a nice day on Monday around 65F so now spring is on the way but chilly this morning and so far I have not spotted even a spot of green as you did. The trees have buds tho.
