Hey, thanks Don! Actually, you have got me trying more B&W conversions...really accentuates the lines of these buttresses. All is well here...just wanting for Spring to arrive tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day, whenever! Later, SirFin for Spring

Hey Peter, thank! I'm still experimenting with B&W. One thing I've been doing is using Nik Software's Viveza to adjust lighting, e.g., in this photo to darken the sky and lighten the buttresses. And since I have an Mac, I use Aperture as my main photo processing program - using its monochrome adjustment sliders and presets.

Yes, I agree, Spring is here too and it feels really GOOD! Winter makes for some nice snow shots but I'd rather photograph when it's warm!

Later, SirFin into Spring ;)

Hmmm, too bad I haven't got a Mac. Though I'd like to (as I'm doing more and more with picture and video editting), my little student's budget does not reach very far...

I'll try some stuff out as well, and check if Vivenza is available for normal PCs as well. But don't you think this effect could for a great deal have been achieved with a polirizing filter (darkening the sky en lighting up the buttresses)? But with editting one can reach a lot as well.. Will try it soon!

Later!
