Serene and crisp!
Thank you Snemann!
Sparks Lake is Soo peaceful. It's a regular pilgramage for me in June
Seems so clear and peaceful, you`re lucky to have such a nice view! Greetings from Chile.
Erwin, Thanks for looking at my photos! Yes Sparks lake is very peaceful. If I could I would build my home here. Right now it's 1am and I am getting ready to make a trip up to sparks lake to photograph this area again. I should arrive just before sunrise.
Have a great Day!
OK Michael... I'll be watching if you upload more photos from Sparks Lake, I guess those pictures will be nice too!
Can it get any more peaceful? One of those dream shots - congratulations!
Scenery like this is made me want to take up photography. I've been taking photos since about 2000 and I have seen alot of change in the wilderness and mostly it's been a negative impact. Everything from forest fires and infestation of insects to people trashing scenic areas, to destruction of Native American petraglyphs and sacred areas. Lately I've been feeling compelled to record through the medium of photography these places because over time it seems that they just wont be around in the next 20 years.
Sorry for the rant...
Thank you for the kind compliments.
No rant, Michael. Do you think that - in addition to just recording - your effort can contribute to prevent or at least slow down the destruction of these wonderful places?
I would like to believe that I am doing my part. When I travel to these places I try to clean up what I can to the best of my ablilty.
I have also found websites like Geocaching that has a cachein/trash out program. I have found that bigbox retailers like walmart are getting the hint that going green saves green. Walmart expects to be 95% landfill free in the next 5 years.
I see that the U.S. seems to be finally going in the right direction, but I still find education for the majority is lacking.
Sadly I find that alot of people just don't care. One guy I know says "why should he do anything? he will be dead in 30 years" and he has no children.
One connection I have found is that of respect. If one does not respect himself then they wont respect others and will not respect the world around him.
I believe that a possible solution comes in the way of some kind of empowerment/education. Because if one believes in something strong enough there is almost no way to stop them.
The question is HOW to empower.
As for myself, I have had this feeling that I am to create a book of some kind.
So I sit here in the desert (metaphorically speaking) awaiting the true spirit of this book to come to me.
What have you found that works in waking people up?
Thank you Magstheonlyone,
In about an hour I am thinking about heading up to Sparks Lake this evening to get some sunset shots. I've never been up there for a sunset yet.
Thanks for looking at my photos :)
Yes you are correct. One drop :)
and thanks for the e-mail too...
Sorry I just realized that the Geocaching link 7 posings back didn't work. This one should
