The light blue bridge (Castleton Bridge) in front carries the New York State Thruway over the river (4 lanes), and the adjacent dark-colored span in the background carries a CSX railroad line. The R.R. bridge is named the Alfred H. Smith Memorial Bridge, which was named for the then-President of the N.Y. Central R.R. when construction was completed in 1924.
