Ha ha...Hello LM...the temptation was there...a bit of marinade...over the hot coals...looks like a bit of of a bite there...and the long legs would make good tooth picks ;)
But because he was wearing out colours, we set him free....haha
Glad you like this freaky little devil...but afraid he only wears the green and gold...definately aussie...but you can just keep looking at this picture...pretend ;)
What a gorgeous little 'monster' Sandy! Due to missing reference points in this picture it's quite difficult to estimate its real size??? Two years ago most probably African warm winds blew a 5" bilious green grasshopper with 3 spikes at its tail (wingspan 10") on our balcony rail. Unfortunately i didn't manage to capture it °_^
Hi Bernd...this stick insect was easily about 25 cm long...which would be 10 inches I think...he was big as this is a large cardboard box hes crawling out off...interesting to look at but a bit creepy to touch ;) as those spiky legs look like they would just latch on and not let go...
True...those little buggers can sneak up on you...at least with this guy you would see it coming ;) unless he's in a tree branch of course...then you probably wouldn't even see him :)
Year. but i hate pets where you have to count your fingers after 'playing with'. Beside this the smaller they are the more toxic ... like with the scorpions.
Hi Sandy, nice to meet you :-) In fact those previous comments got mixed up!LOL My mate from Germany can be a little bit crazy sometimes as you might have noticed by yourself already! :-D
The "cute" insect definitely is a riot. Never seen anything likely over here and I have to say that I'm not too sad about it!LOL
Got to come back checking your gallery - at least tastewise I can trust Bernd ;-)
A - for you already belated - Happy Easter - our mutants breed in electronic boxes - and cheers from Austria! Not much of a difference in spelling but a huge one concerning size (!) and location :-D, Sonny
Your welcome, Sandy and yes it was terrific since the area where I live (next to Austria's capital Vienna) has been the "hot spot" of all Europe! That makes me feel fine especially after that long and ugly winter. Sonny likes it hot for sure!Ha!
Well, meanwhile you did go through my gallery leaving behind a lot of very nice comments - thank you so much!

Hello Sandy, wow, that`s a very huge one!
Is this a kind of a praying mantis or more something like this?
Thanks to You and Your neighbours for that I can watch it now!
Greetings from Wolf to You

Sandy The large the better (Sorry Sonja :-)!
The small ones - especially the little Red Back at an airplane toilette made me 'rather more nervous' :-)
