I lived in Richmond for year, drove the "new" #2 Road over this arm of the Fraser River and then, Bang, this beautiful building!(I had not taken the route for a bit). It is fantastic. And... At night it looks even better. Makes me want to take up the sport.
I don't know if folks are aware of this, but the magnificent arches inside are built of pine, the same wood attacked by that voracious beetle. So there IS a use for that stuff. I wish I had pics of the inside, the lighting is spectacular!
Hi Gordon. That's funny. Because of Olympic I'm back doing alpine skiing and trying to learn ice skating. You can find online many inside pictures, but if you want give me your email and send you couple. BTW the roof steel detailing drawings was done in my office.
