Standing on the end of the pier in the early morning provides a perfect vantage point to find the reflections in the cold smooth lake. A dusting of snow coupled with a very heavy frost lightly covers the bow of the Lady of the Lake, whilst the distant hills have a more serrious covering of snow.

I like this photo. Nice nature and reflections and the human presence (the boat entering the scene)

Valerie on March 23, 2009

I really like this shot, my friend...it is the perfect image of calm and tranquillity! While the delicate shades of colour in the sky convey a great sense of peace, the gentle reflection makes me think that the ship is almost suspended in air...it could be perfectly a dream! Wonderful, Nick! A yellow star will lead this lovely ship to my Favourites...:))

Hugs & Greetings, Valeria

Vasilis Georgantopoulos ~~ Hello and welcome ~ thanks for visiting and many more thanks for your very thoughtful appraisal of this shot ~ I am very glad that you like it, espcially the prow of the boat:)

..Valerie.. ~~ Greetings dear friend and you to have written the most thoughtful appraisal and I very much like your idea of the ship actually floating in the air, suspended just above the tranquil water so as not to disturb the mirror of the water and to keep the dreamlike quality intact. Thank you so much for the Y* too. Hugs and greetings to you too Artemis

Most friendly greetings to you both as well ciao nick

Gold Star Nick, I love it. Calm reflections with the added bonus of the boat. This reminds me of Norway ;-)

Will this be in your March contest? :)

Greetings, Amelia
