Brenderup Kirke blev opført i 1200-tallet som en romansk kvaderstenskirke, bestående af skib og kor med apsis. Ca. 1450-1550 ændrede kirken udseende, så den i dag fremtræder som en typisk vestfynsk landsbykirke af anseelig størrelse.
