These copper mines are estimated to be 3,500 years old. The are the most extensive prehistoric mines in Europe, if not the wiorld.

There is no real credit given to this region that was one of the most important regions of the Dark Age. Its history has been usurped by other parts of the Mainland but unequivocally belong to this most ancient of places.
