(Fonte: Wikipedia)

Dear Rubens, you were lucky to get a prominent position for a photo of Einzug der Festwirte und Aussteller i.e. procession of the hosting brewers and exhibitors of horses, bulls, cows, bullocks, agricultural producents, traditionally on first Sunday at Oktoberfest, a tradition developed from a horse race in 1810 !! Hundred-twenty years later in Nazi Germany it was perverted to propaganda of Blut und Boden. After World War II during times of Cold War this procession was opened for folklore-groups of refugees and displaced families showing their regional native costumes of Schlesien, Pommern, Ostpreussen, Egerland, with the connotation: they are no Bavarians, they should go back as soon as possible. Over 70 years these Zuagroastn - immigrants - became integrated parts in the Bavarian society and helped to modernize Bavaria from an agricultural province to a modern technology-driving European region. At the end of Cold War, all folklore groups mainly from twinned towns in Bavaria, and all private groups with folklore focus may take part in this procession with their costumes, music bands and dance groups. I am happy to say: this is a parade of peace with the licence to get drunken from friendship and beer! Best regards, Hans der Bayer
