Very impressive deep freeze conditions
Goovi, these are spires and dikes from the interior of a long eroded volcano. This area consists of several active volcanos, cones, spires and hot springs that make up the interior and outer rim of the Emmons Caldera, a long relatively inactive super volcano. The caldera basin I am told is approximately 50 x 35 km, rather oval shaped.
Wow this is really magic Phil and very interesting too. I think it has worked out well and I hope that you are pleased with it too. VOTED. Tedy.

Look's like a witch castle... super!!!!.
The Cradle of the Storms has a good description of the pinnacles, it was published back in 1935,it's a good read. I have always been overwhelmed by their beauty on my flights up and dowm the peninsula. They are part of the edifice that remains from a super eruption before dirt was invented...Great pictures.
Very incredible beauty, taken is perfect low angle sun conditions. FAVORITE
