A Swan is puzzled as to how to get through the lock gates at Fenny Strattford ~ Friday 27th March 2009. It swam into the lock as the barge a couple of pictures away to the left in this gallery moved out of the lock and will now wait until another barge enters in from the other side of these gates (north) before heading off upstream. Too lazy to hop over or through the gates, or even hop up onto the side of the lock!!
Such a beautiful creature has every right to be lazy dear Nick, but I suspect that really he saw the lens of the Nikon and thought, "Aha - Panoramio and fame awaits!"
A nice set of uploads today :))))))
Amelia Royan ~~ Swan Lock it is dearest one ~ he saw the lens and posed. More uploads to come yet you know. I've been out for a while and now must get back to uploading and finding out who won the boat race!! Thanks for your lovely compliments btw. ~ Ciao nick
This is a swan-thinker! If he was a practical guy he would fly. Olga
Olga Yakovenko ~~ Not enough length of water for the Swan to take off Olga the other lock gates are now closed too!! But he could flap the wings a bit and hope up onto the side of the lock!! ~ This is a Swan "no thinker" ~ Ciao nick
