Dear Rob,

It was late in the afternoon so it was dry. I had been sent out to bring the washing in but I just couldn't resist taking a photo of the interesting washing I found there. I am often surprised by what you mother hangs up to dry!

Dear FüsunK,

We have never located that red pomegranate that rolled down the steep hill in Glebe, remember? But when I went out in the Australian Eastern Desert last week I visited Broken Hill and Silverton recently, and I was delighted to find the pomegranate out there. It was still on the rails, though they were crumpled a little. I believe its heart is in Istanbul, to which it will return. So I wrote a poem In Memory of its visit.

Loving greetings to both households,

Dad / Ian

You're becoming a contemporary artist Ian, you have all the time now... Best regards, Edmundo

Dear Edmundo,

I had to take the washing off the line first!

I am pleased with your response, for I have been tempted to print and frame the pomegranate set!

Ian
