Of course it isn't the sun, Guy - everyone knows it's the Moon that's made of cheese!

LOL, no, I think you're thinking of Ganymede. Silly, everyone knows the Earth's moon is made of Green Cheese. and then when it's seen through our atmosphere, the light makes it look orange or yellow. Wow, I'm surprised you didn't know that. I'd have thought you'd be a Cheeze Whiz!

Hi gabcoon, yes it is indeed very real. The people who live up on this hill have front seats to a great show every month watching it rise. Greetings to you.

such big with only 75 mm of focal lenght... i can't imagine with a 200 mm..

Hi braggee - Thanks! The zoom listed is deceptive, since the camera isn't a dslr. It's a Canon SX10, with a 20x zoom, so 100mm is the equivalent of 560mm on a dslr lens. This wasn't even full zoom - I think 75mm is probably the equivalent of a 400 mm dslr lens, and it's cropped some (though at full zoom the moon would close to fill the frame.) But getting these full zoom moon photos with a distant foreground is fun!
