Hi, I would like to ask if I can use this photo you took of the World Discoverer for the Wikipedia article I have started for the World Discoverer which includes basic information on the ship and how it came to become grounded. I will not use this photo for any other purposes other then the wikipedia section on this ship. But you have a copyright on this photo so I would like to get permission before I use it.

Hey Jonsey, wikipedia remove the photo because they want you to upload it instead of me. If you goto http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page the wikipedia commons page and upload it there, I will reinstall the photo on the page. Thanks again.

Hey Jonsey - I moved your picture so it is actually the picture you see at the top of the page now. If I didn't say so before, it is a great picture. Visit the site I have listed above and you will see the work. It is pretty much completed now. I am just waiting on assessment from WikiProjects: Ships on the assessment scale. Also, just to let you know of the popularity of this photo will get, heres an example. The page has been viewed 2,610 times from people around the world, and that is only since June of 09 when we first started this page. Thats an average of 22 views a day. not bad. Plus many of the places I have visited concerning the shipwreck have the wikipedia link to my page on the subject. Usually along with your photo (I do not know if you gave them permission to post it or not.) therefore, this will be a popular page for the future. Thank you again for your bearing with me to get that picture on the page article. Be sure to visit it. Take care.

Very sad to see this photo, I worked as a bartender on the World Discoverer in 1991-1992. I have many fond memories of her. fortunately, I have tons of photos showing her afloat. I sailed on her from Antarctica, Falkland Islands, Sea of Cortez, Panama Canal, all the way up the west coast of America up to Alaska and back. Sure gonna miss her! Great photo!
