The Art of Water. The weir on the River Severn, Shrewsbury
Unfortunately they don't celebrate 2 May Days, and so Adrian [and I] shall be in Drammen for 4 days from Sunday evening - no replies for 4 days. Today's photos won't be up to much. We planned on taking a trip to Lysefjord and climbing up to Pulpit Rock - but so did the rest of the world and his dog, so the roads were reasonable. but the ferry routes to get there were like the M25!!
Ah! The tides control the moon - now I understand the mysteries :)))
My Australian cousin Darb is in Henningsvaer on the incredibly beautiful Lofoten Islands just north of the Arctic Circle and has been there for three or four weeks now as part of his great European tour. Have you been up that far Amelia the Obscure ~~ I guess I'll have to GE Drammen to see where that is and no doubt pretty soon there will be more little blue squares covering that area too :))) I am a Crab person hence the tides and the moon and no doubt my love of the sea ~~ tread onwards A the O ~~ Ciao nick x
I see that schi has beaten you to it as regards the first picture of the Pulpit Rock, but I reckon you'll find better angles somehow ~ loads of people on the top of it though! So maybe that is why the ferries were all so packed!! Ciao A the O
They were so packed that we didn't get there dear Nick. Tanks for the vote though, for yet another photo that won't ever be looked again :)))
Pulpit rock is always crowded, and extremely well photographed as well. We've decided that Adrian shall take a day off work and we'll go up then :))
I bet your cousin is having the most amazing time. Unfortunately we are going to find it difficult to get up north, Adrian has to go to work and only gets 4 weeks leave a year, and family commitments in the UK :(
i like photos to be simple! i think they are often more representative of the essence of a place and time than photos which are straight forward facsimilies.
I agree entirely with you Colin, but I decided, when I came as a total stranger to Norway, that there weren't many photos of the area where we were going to live on Google Earth. I think I have put Tananger on the map - but I really like just playing with the camera, and post many shots which will never be shown. I'm surprised that Pano selected this one!!
Dear Olga, sorry it has taken so long to reply, I have been in Scotland for a few days. Thank you for coming back to vote for this simple photograph ;-)
I have missed this comment Arthur, so please accept my apologies - we were on holiday in France. Thank you for your appreciation of this photo, I really enjoyed watching the water tumbling over this weir :)
