The building with the tall blue capped chimney is Ineos Chlor (formerly ICI) Power Station, it produced electricity to provide the chlorine producing cell rooms with sufficient power to produce chlorine gas this was then liquefied on site and transported to customers by either rail or road tanker vehicles. Some of the bye products of the process were - caustic soda, sodium hypochlorite and hydrogen.
