Many thanks Luigi. I often wonder why this photo is so popular, it is just a field covered with polythene strips to protect the young maize shoots!
Have a lovely weekend, Amelia

Nice shot, Amelia. Visually fascinating. Interesting too ... I don't think I've ever seen this done in a field. It seems like a lot of work and expense. L

Hi there Bryan, our main home is in the UK, in the the middle of the coldest county in England - Shropshire. These protective sheets were used to protect maize. If I had taken a photo of the same field this year it would have been a hill of yellow oilseed rape backed by a blue sky, not so graphically interesting :)
Cheers, Amelia

Hi Amelia, I saw this picture in the Abstraction & surrealism group. Seriously hypnotic, this shot. I feel like getting sucked into the black gaps... Cool.

Maximeo.
I am still amazed by the response I get for this polythene covered field. I really must go and congratulate the farmer for his artistic efforts!
Warm wishes to you all, Amelia
