Nick Weall on April 17, 2009

All the greenery is now bursting out all over, the rain continues ~ grey murk is the order of the day and perhaps the old triker is better kept under the covers :)))

Amelia Royan on April 17, 2009

MURK how right you are dear Nick - but when Mike eventually gets out of bed the sun may be shining :)))))

skida on April 17, 2009

Amelia Royan on April 17, 2009

I like this photo very much.. there are many details but whole picture is harmonious and calm ... well composed in my opinion :) Bravo!...

Thank you, your opinion is worth a lot to me, you are very kind, there are more of this Rail Station in the tag, would you care to view them at your leisure?

Another marvel and beautifully captured, dear Mike. I imagine there are some fine railway station in this country too, especially in the central (Chicago, New Orleans, Kansas City) and eastern parts. Not here though - we don't even have buses yet (well CCAT are like a large van on a very limited schedule). This image is really fine! Surely do miss Mira and her images. Hugs (O:

tHANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THOSE PRECIOUS WORDS, YOU CAN SEE THE EFFECT mIRA'S GALLERY HAD ON ME!

i HAVE SENT YOU A pm WITH INFORMATION THAT MAY BE TO YOUR LIKING.

Mmmmm, lots of trains and stations were shut down in late 60's by Dr. Beeching, many country lines and steam engines simply disappeared, there are many restoration projects with volunteers peppering the land, but it is only a reminder of how things were. Many sat it was inevitable as rail travel then was heavily subsidised and would have failed anyway, now we have a fairly good main line rapid service, but there are still huge gaps in it! Costs can be astronomical too, it is cheaper and faster to fly!

Oooooh, I do ramble on when the bit gets stuck in my teeth!

I'll say cheery bye for now (in case 'they' think I am writing too much!!)
