Nice Photo of the lighthouse. When I was young there was not so much sand out from the beach but it shows how much has washed out from the foreshore and the dunes. the line of dots from the beach outwards looks like the poles for the nets and traps that were used to catch salmon and sea trout by Johnson Bros. The used to have to wait until th tide went out out to catch the fish from the traps, Johnathon Stansfeld started using scuba to enter the traps and catch the fish and pass them up to the men on the 'walkway' on the top of the nets.

Thanks for the interesting comments esbev. It's quite interesting how the coastline changes gradually over time. Coincidentally, I photographed a Johnston and Sons fish box at Kinnaber a few weeks back! I have uploaded the photo here

Incidentally, the Ferryden reference above the photograph isn't under my control. Panoramio are deriving the name from the map coordinates and I would agree, it shouldn't be Ferryden! Sadly there's nothing I can to to change it. The same is true of the beach esplanade statue photograph being incorrectly associated with Ferryden.
