Thank you again, juncujuncu, for your kind visit.
Actually, what you see here is no typical. The columns of the temple were carved out of a volcanic lava stone.

wonderful photo !
I visited this temple in June, under heavy rain, after a long walk in the old heritage streets around. It was magical, but Aaargh! I forgot my camera!!! Tried to take a few pictures with my girlfriend's Blackberry though (hey! gotto check it sometimes, maybe worth an upload).
It definitely rocks more than Lukang Longshan Temple!
Greetings from Tamil Nadu
NATUSKA, my appreciation for your detailed exploration throughout my gallery!!! Thank you!
omshakti, you been to Taiwan? Congratulations! June to Sep is the time one should avoid visiting East Asia for pleasure. But Lugang's Longshan Temple as I've heard is much older than this one in Taipei. Actually, it is the oldest on Taiwan, according to my research.
Best wishes from Bangkok to Tamil Nadu & Hungary ~ w☺rap☺ng
Lugang Long Shan temple maybe old but it's not as vibrant as Taipei's 龍山寺. I'm in love with Taiwan ;) Going back there in three weeks...
If you ever visit South India, do let me know.
Greetings from Auroville
omshakti, going back there in 3 weeks. You're lucky. Have a safe trip!
I also look forward to visiting India. But most Thais visiting India would follow the route of Lord Buddha, which concentrates in Northern India. Almost like a pilgrimage. I haven't heard anybody here talking about Tamil Nadu. India is such a vast country.
@ Zhou，非常感谢您的来访及美言。 来自加拿大温哥华的问候，阿鹏
