While my family visited Sinka Island Park, we were nearly crowded out from hoards of people from nearby Singkawang and more distant Pontianak, about a three-hour drive away. But as the afternoon rain clouds formed, numbers quickly died away, and we had this beach almost to ourselves, with the exception of fishermen who awaited the tide to roll in. indyj@rogers.com
