Fai There are at least two broods of chicks. Like you, I hadn't seen any before. I like the way the proud parent stands guard. Regards Geoff

Ohhhh Great Shot Geoff. They look loverly as they explore for first time in new area. They grow quick too. We here in Western Australia, in the south have duck called Mountain Duck. with loverly colours and they nest in hollow trees and they usally have around 18 to 20 babys, but there are always other hungry mouths around and they end up with about 5 or 6. These ducks here are hard to photograph as there is "always one on guard" and they always see you coming, no matter how hard you try and hide!!!Thanks again for you photo about and you are right, the parent does look very proud too. Best to you, David :-)

Thanks Mimi, this was one of two families there. I will go back in a few weeks to see how they have grown. Regards Geoff
