Hello Jim. No they don't have two drivers, but regulations here in Australia are very strick about the length of time you are aloud to drive at any one time in a 24 hour period. All trucks must keep Log Books etc and if they fail to fill in this information, they are in heaps of trouble or they get caught not stopping and resting after so many hours, rather serious conquences!! This Trucking Company is a local one of the many here and these trucks only do around two trips a day. They usally travel out inland for over 100 miles or more, pickup there load from the local (CBH) Grain Terminal) and then head back to Albany to the (CBH) Terminal at the Port of Albany, probully 250 mile round trip. They usually do two trips as said a day and finish around anything from 3pm each day and later, depending on what time they started. This truck above would have an overall weight loaded, from 125-130 Tons and all these trucks will travel at around 100klms per hour empty and loaded. But they are really good on our roads. Its the cars that course the biggest problems to them. One need a min of 600 meters at least to be able to pass them in a legal speed limit. I just sit behind them ,and if one comes up behind me, I slow up and pull over and let him go through, but we have plenty of passing lanes on our roads that make it easyer.Where most of these trucks go, there are no railway lines at all,its all road transport. Altough we do have a grain train that continueally goes 24 hours aday, but in a different dirrection. Well Jim I hope that has informed you a little more about our Australian Roadtrains. Feel free to ask any question you like and I will do my best to answer them for you. Best Regards,David

No falling asleep at the wheel here I hope !!
I am thinking that there are two drivers per vehicle, they must be kept going around the clock?
Jim
