I was born in Bemidji, and I remember Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox very well. Most people don't know, but Babe was originally a bull, complete with the expected pare of ....you know. Anyway, in 2008 at a family reunion in Vancouver, WA, I found out that my cousin and a friend used a sled hammer to make Babe the steer he is today. That must've been sometime in the early 50's. I'm guessing the evidence of their work in somewhere offshore in Lake Bemidji.
