Jean, it might look "drab", but its beak is looking much more crazy and its "face" is looking friendlier. This is another wonderful shot, Jean, great that you could find such a hidden situation!

Karl, sorry I'm late in responding to your nice comment. I agree with you, its beak is looking much more crazy. She also seems to be wearing some heavy eye shadow to make her eyes stand out and what about that hair! Yes, I was lucky to see this nest. It is the first Cardinal eggs that I have ever seen and the first time I see the Cardinal on a nest too!
