Great capture! Is he keeping a close eye on the nest?

Its lovely to see these colourful birds from your side of the world. Its a beautiful composition with the bark of the tree as the background and the subject surrounded by the curling branch. Exceptional photography Jean.

great shot of this male cardinal.

Jean Gregory Evans on May 5, 2009

Nick, thank you for that compliment, but I wish that limb had not hidden the very top of his head, he has a dashing hairdo.

JF, Yes, he was keeping a close eye on the female as she used the stuff to build the nest. They were both gathering and she was building and guarded her and said things to her if anything disturbing happened. He was an excellent guard.

M, I agree with you! I love seeing the birds on YOUR side of the world too! It appears that this is a great photo of a red bird, but he has a bit of crest, the feathers are like a cool hairdo. That limb hid the top of his head, drat.

..::[KOERY]::.., thank you! I'm glad that you like it... but... well, I missed the very top of his head.

Thanks all!
