nice photo. looks peaceful! kat

Thanks kat. I used the grassy dunes to hide the "not peaceful" bits.

Mike: Edward Hopper was a US artist who produced some of my favourites (I have two Hopper prints on the walls). To see what I was getting at SEE HERE.

Fine Hopper and fine Keith! I love the feeling of fresh ocean breezes that this conveys. Marilyn

Thanks indeedy, Marilyn. I am quite happy with the way it turned out.

Keith, I have just seen a link from you on Edward Hopper, and how glad I followed it to this photo. It is really smashing, and I have followed your link on this page too. Lovely photography of the north east:))

Greetings, Amelia

Very nice Hopper-esque scene. Congratulations! -Art

Thanks Amelia and Art. The white buildings against a blue sky with the wind obvious in the grass made me think of Hopper and I think I got the "feel" about right, but this isn't Maine and there wasn't a yacht to be found.

I meant Cape Cod, of course, and I don't remember which State it is in. :)

Art Anderson on May 13, 2009

Cape Cod is in Massachusetts. I was going to post some of the paintings you chose to compare your photo with. Actually, I think Hopper would have been thrilled to find the scene you shot, Keith. Best regards. -Art

I had the first letter right, then. ;)

Thanks again, Art.

This is beautiful. The colours are perfect. And yes, it's very Hopperesque. I have a set of greeting cards with his work on it and this would fit in perfectly.

skida on November 28, 2009

You are very kind whoelia, Hopper is one of my favourite artists and the scene seemed just right.

A little reminder that the weather often changes at the sea-side!

I shot this on 35mm seve5ral years ago, so when I saw your 'Hopper' look-alike I remembered this old photo of mine.

Hope you are breathing better now Keith, Regards to Linda
