Flames from the Big Fish fire near Trappers Lake, 2002. We weren't quite sure we were going to make it out before the fire cut the road, but had to get a picture. It was the most incredible sight I have ever seen. I would even say the most beautiful, but that hardly seems the right word for something so terribly destructive. The trees are 40-50 feet high, the flames completely dwarf them.
