Hi there, i was born in Adam st and brought up in Gourock seeing many changes. I cannot believe that the residents of Gourock would have sanctioned such a horrid looking building to be placed not far from the original Eastern School site which was deemed no longer viable. I am also stunned that it was allowed to be built on land given by the Darrochs to "the people". Surely the education department have broken many laws and bylaws. Such is the apathy of the local people when it comes to elctions. The building looks like the designer watched too many flying saucer movies, wanted to show what a WW2 gun emplacement looked like or visited Australia and saw the simple design of the large rainwater tanks that dot the countryside.Shame on you Gourockians, Shame!! The photo is very nice as are the others.I hope that more photos are uploaded of Gourock's older side - if any have been left standing.

Hi Tobin,
My wife also comes from Gourock and we both agree with the sentiments you have expressed.

hi there, i came from Gourock too, this school is known locally as the wedding cake. and i also agree, that it should never have been built on this site, i also thought it was a green belt area...just to let you know though, the Gourockians were not asked, wheather we wanted a school there or not...i am sure we would have said no
