Excellent photo!

It's one of those photos that beckons, "follow me". The Wall is obviously in rough condition here but it looks much more intact in the distance.

This photo also gives a good feel for the terrain which is often hard to show in an image compared to how it looks in real life. It really feels like I am standing there myself.

You are right. The wall is in much better condition on the western side of the river. On the western side the wall is made of brick but here only the stones remain.
