ToniaJ, thank you. This is an old photo from years ago, from my first digital camera.

~J~, ZZ Top! Yes! I was thinking Santa, but you are right, truly ZZ Top. I combed my kitty and discarded the fur and soon this little bird came along... I was lucky to get the shot! He took his time gathering the fur from the comb and fluffed it up before taking off. He must have had a time flying ... with hair in his eyes! I left more out and he returned later to get that too.

I suspect she had a very soft nest that year. This is a great capture Jean.

Yes Jean, if truth is ZZ Top jejejeje..!!! Saludos Ale:D

kat, I really did get lucky to get this shot.

Cal Kimola, I suspect that too, I let myself imagine how it must have felt to the new hatchlings... I hope they weren't allergic to cat hair.

Alu, thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it!

Ale, Yes, ~J~ got it right, didn't she?

Thank you ALL! Your wonderful comments have made me smile today.

You're so good with these bird photos Jean - are you still cleaning the windows daily?

He looks so cute, I can just imagine him flying with a "beak-ful" of your kitty's fur blowing in his eyes :)

Greetings, Amelia

Jean Gregory Evans on May 9, 2009

Amelia, I am not cleaning the window as often as I should... I have discovered that I can sneak a little in between dirty spots and sometimes a spot is in camouflage so it doesn't matter. That is a big relief to relax the window washing! Ha ha.

Are you telling me Jean that you are becoming less house-proud while you watch these beautiful little birds with fluff blowing up their nostrils while they are busily nest making?

Shame on you ;-)

interesting and nice capture...

Jean Gregory Evans on May 10, 2009

Amelia, yes, I am. Well, maybe not... I was only washing the window to make a hole for the camera to begin with. I also removed the window screens... tee hee.

juncujuncu, I'm glad you enjoy this funny photo.

Thank you both very much!

LOL, love the bird, the funny photo, and the story. I was imagining her flying off half blinded even before starting to read.

Helloo,competent kid! Inconceivable….^_^

Jean Gregory Evans on May 14, 2009

JF, I'm glad you enjoyed this photo. This was taken on my deck through a glass door. The light reflected on the door so that the bird could not see me just on the other side hidden in reflections. It was a few years ago, now the deck is a sunroom, no more deck.

flees, Yes, a crafty little bird. I like to think that the little chicks had a soft and warm nest! Thank you!

Good Evening from the mountains of North Carolina, USA! Thank you for your visit!

What for a lovely bird, must make a nest ... Jean , a good foto... BG. Romina ( Austria)

Jean Gregory Evans on May 29, 2009

Romina, yes, thank you! This is a photo from a few years ago. Someone suggested that I give the shed fur from the cat to the birds for nest building. I was thrilled to get a taker - I thought, this is like the ultimate in recycling.

Ha ha,
