YPSILON BRIDGE, Drammen - a tribute to Nøkken, and the song of Drammenselva for Mira

Selected for Google Maps and Google Earth

Once upon a time it was common for us humans to sing to rivers, lakes and waterfalls. Those were the days when Nøkken was not the fearful character that lured folks to drowning with his beautiful music. The Ypsilon bridge is built like a giant harp, it will help us to sing once more to Drammenselva and restore harmony with Nøkken. If we approach him properly, maybe he will teach a musician to play so adeptly that the trees dance and waterfalls stop at his music.

Hey ~ what happened to the power of positive thinking? Murray can do it and so can you little goat :)))

Amelia Royan on June 30, 2009

Well there has got to be a real surge of last minute interest - and that's unlikely. But I still love the singing bridge :)

Semi final Friday????

I agree that the singing bridge is great and it deserves every vote it can get ~ so how about it folks a vote for the swinging singing bridge ???

First tomorrow for the to good to hurry mint

Oh - I can feel my self singing along here!! Do you remember Hartleys Garden Peas??

Nick Weall on July 1, 2009

Nope sorry I don't and I sorry that my comment didn't rustle up even just one more vote ~ oh if only Victoria had registered David in time ~ I'm sure he would have voted ~ Ciao ~ Will your quaint Norske TV cover the Murray match later?

Amelia Royan on July 1, 2009

The giant black screen doesn't cover Wimbledon at all, but this little lap top allows us to see the writing - no live coverage TV though. Adrian was quite depressed when the "kiss of death" seemed to be given by Henman the day before, when he said it would be an easy round for Murray. But it was!! :)))))

Nick Weall on July 2, 2009

Yes he walked it despite the Henman ~ Murrey Walker kiss of obvious death ~ the next round should be a severe test I think and might be a great match ~ enjoy your text report of it ~ must be almost as exciting as watching paint dry. Ciao

The tension is high dear Nick, as Adrian and I sit huddled round the small screen, watching the ticker tape flashes appearing across the page. It takes me back to the days of early TV. If we were also to decide to paint a wall in the apartment to watch as well - I think the excitement would be just too much to bear :))))
