y friends in Panoramio, it is with heavy heart I bring you news of weeBOOK(let)'s setback. I have ceased negotiations with the publisher as the fee they requested from me was crippling to the extreme.
I now must try and seek another publisher, so...back to square one!
I am truly sorry that this hiccup has stopped the job in it's tracks, I apologise to each and all of you.
So sorry to hear of this snafu, Mike, but don't give up on your weeBOOK and keep trying other publishers. Your panoramigos are with you on this project. Theolfa
It was only fiscal reasons Theolfa, they wanted 5K plus for the job, with a return of 40% on private sales, 20% on trade. Left nothing for the charity!
Onwards and upwards!
Hows the feet? walking yet?
good weekend to you,
Oh, thank you Mira, everyone who has seen this message feels for me, but no need to worry! sure I am disappointed, but not angry! I was not going to spend that much (even if I had it) to raise money for charity, I would rather give the fee to them direct (if I had it!)
I shan't give up, there must be a publisher out there who can help, I just have to find them!!
Have a lovely weekend,
I was so sorry to read of the fate of the wee booklet. I agree with you re the donation and charity. But please keep looking for options - we were all so looking forward to our copies.
As for the photo above - very well done. You conveyed the mood wonderfully and the text was blended very beautifully. Loved the hat and the different layers of blues.
Will be listening for better news re the wee booklet.
I let no grass grow under my foot!
Negotiations are under way, do not worry!
Oh here it is Mike, I thought you had deleted this one :)
Well it's in my gallery now, I need the hat to keep the sun off my face Bonnie Lad. Keep up the negotiations and good luck.
Ca canny noo, Amelia
the hat with the tulips is way back, this one is just half a hat!
I am awaiting a switch-on with BT, running on vodaphone stick for now
you didn't think I would really miss talking to you all, did you?
Sad story, but where there's a will there's a way! Keep yer chin up or whatever it is they say! Rachel
Ps, why the second site?
I wanted to try and get away from pushy Women who ask too many questions
"What or whom are you talking about?" said one of the pushy woman!!
Ca canny Bonnie Lad :)
'Pushy' is a Mancunian
she calls me 'nutter' too,
I realy must excuse her though (perhaps she's rather 'keen')
especially when she told me
her favourite hair was green!
How ya gaein Bonnie Lassie, yer new pics are just briliant, so they are!
My assistive technology was a flop, so I may go for bigger screen, TFT flatscreen TV,HDR
when yon lottery comes in! (or perhaps I could become an MP!)
I'm a bit late catching up on the news. I'm so sorry, Mike, but as a matter of fact I've been worrying about you and this venture. When I looked the publisher on the internet, I did see a review by one person who had been satisfied with their work but who has now moved to another publisher who is much less expensive. Otherwise I saw warnings and complaints, and I was afraid that the price tag was going to be too high. I'm just glad you found out soon enough to get out. My biggest worry was that you'd somehow be committed before learning just how much it would cost, and then you'd have been trapped!
Keep looking and keep those amazing spirits up. There must be a way!
No problem Marylin
pebbles on beach, fish in sea, publishers wanting my book....very similar!
I am in contact with another, hold on to hope!
great to chat briefly, gotta git the chores done before I climb the wooden hill!
take care, be happy, stay safe
right, washing out and on the dryer!
I studied intensively too, i found out similar to you, I sign nothing ask a lt, so when they quoted price, it was no surprise, but could not afford, they'd have my eyes!
Another publisher with a different deal might just get the seal of approval for the deal, perhaps the one I am speaking to now, who knows?
I am patient, do not fret, aint ready to throw cash away yet!
I will let you all know in good time, no worries!
I am back online now, intending to catch up with your site in due time, hopefully before weekend!
but assistive technology was no good, perhaps will consider a bigger screen / hdtv/ 28inch flatscreen tv/ monitor allin one (GOOGLE cannot find one of that description!)
hope you keep smiling at my ramblings, off to wash up the dishes, then climb the stairs
nitey nite to you
Oh Mike this is a brief setback, I hope. Your WeeBook will surely see the light of day...
Not sure what you're looking for, or needing, but when I was in Tokyo working on a publication I hooked the laptop to the TV monitor with a USB cable. My HDTV here has a port, not that I've ever used it....wouldn't the panophotos look wonderful on the big screen? I think most of them have USB ports now.
And....I love the composition, the blues, and most of all the hat...yes, I'm partial to a gent in a hat.
Greetings from Miami,
No need to panic, no need to fret
there's more than one publisher, and I aint done just yet!!
In negotiations with another right now, but it will remain a secret, until you all get the ordering info!
I intend to get printed in the book the contact for Panoramio, so you guys and Gals can all be contacted by whosoever wishes to , my original intention to spread the word and perhaps get some of you an extra income? who knows?
hope you are going to enjoy the forthcoming weekend, we are having heavy rain showers for a couple of days, I will catch up on the paperwork!!
Lotsa regards and best wishes, thanks for the contact, it's always important to me.
