Amazing shot Ian! Where is the larva, is it a tree bark?! What kind of tree it could be? The green of the larva is wonderful!

Greetings, Mira

Hi Mira, I think its the first instar (very young)of the Privit Hawkmoth and its was climbing up a Grey Poplar with that wonderfully wierd bark! It had about 20 metres to climb before getting to anything to eat, long way if your only 4 cms long!!!

Best wishes, Ian
