This reminds me of Filey and the pillboxes there. It all seems placid now.

Seems a nice place for a Christmas BBQ - o sorry, wrong hemisphere.

Greetings Ian...Ah well, that's another year passed and another Christmas to look forward to...It's a many a year since we had a winter so prolonged and cold as this ;>( roll on the spring ;>)

Yes, the pillboxes were made to a standard pattern and sprouted like mushrooms all along the East coast in the early forties..As children, we would re-enact WW2 on the beach...trouble was, no one wanted to be the enemy ;>)
