I AM SORRY FOLKS THESE are yellow pears not blooms.They have colorful blooms before these yellow pears develop.

This is a cane cholla (Opuntia spinosior. As stated by leonscabin they are the fruit of the cactus and not the blooms. The flowers are a beautiful shade of red. This is in the same family of cactus as prickly pear and the fruit is considered a berry by botanists
