Andrew is that fresh or salt water that you swim in? and what temperature would it be and how deep, it is so clear it is hard to tell? Have you ever been to Norfolk Island for a visit.

dkerr on August 5, 2008

The water is salt water. The temp at this time of the year would be around 22 deg C and it is about 30 feet dept in some parts.

I just "discovered" Pitcairn Island a few days ago on the net. (I think I just wasn't interested before, and didn't really know the story of the Bounty in details.) Now the more pics I see the more fascinated I am with the place, it's history and the people. It would be great to visit (although I hear it's a challenge to lower on to the longboat). I will most definitely keep it in mind to come there one day.
