Doesn't it look peaceful down there, you wouldn't believe all that activity going on above. you have got a canal round every corner in Birmingham no wonder you are mad on fishing. :-)

After turning upside down on Google Earth I think I have the location now, so put me right if I am wrong.!

The second bridge is a turnover bridge and I sometimes used to leave the canal here on my bike, and pass what used to be the Magnet Club, to reach Brookvale Park.

If this is right I have an interesting tale that I have posted on one of BrownhillsBob’s pictures.

The photo that I was thinking of by Brownhill’s Bob can be seen clicking here

It is further back along the cut, but on your picture the artist was sitting a few yards before the pillar in the canal. This chap had been made redundant from the closures of Industry in the Black Country and as he had time on his hands he tried painting!

I have never managed to find the name, but good luck to him; his paintings were really good and served to record our once thriving industries.
