It's quite surprising to me how much neon is not out there any more. Enid has a number of cool signs that would be excellent candidates, but they are either not lit, or missing the tubing altogether. Sad. This is one of the few exterior signs that I was able to find.

I agree. The neon signs are vanishing. I should go out and picture the signs in my place before it's too late.

Yes, we've got some good ones, especially in Chinatown. But I don't get out there much. This one is a bit lonely and sad but at least it is lit. Good for you for finding them!

That would be neat to see some from the Netherlands, Norrel. Make sure to bring your tripod along if you go get some.

You're right about lonely and sad, Nawitka. This is at the edge of downtown, and a rather raggedy edge at that. I get a kick out of spotting them. My mom thinks that I'm a trifle tetched, I think.

Cool photo, I like the mood of this one....maybe the contrast of the neon, the red reflected burnished glow on the building and the clarity and detail in the window against the soft yellow.

My kids now think I am nuts. I keep driving along looking at neon signs now when we are out and about & trying to picture them in a photo. Mom, stop it and just drive!

Glad you have the expertise and are taking the time to document them so well.

Thanks for the glowing review of this, jf. Most kind of you. Sorry to have infected you with the neon penchant. If you ignore it, it'll go away...
