I used to live just above the barracks in Dinorwic Terraces with my husband and our lurcher dog. We'd walk down to the barracks most days rain or shine and never ceased to be amazed by the views and the presence of the quarries. Back then the area was known as 'husky country'. It was a hard place in the winter. I buried two very precious canine friends in the woods along from the barracks. Your picture has brought back some very happy and some very sad memories. Thank you for taking the time to photograph them as I never did. Lorna

Thanks for taking the time to comment. It's great to get the 'human interest' side to the photos. I could well imagine the hardship you describe, it seems a very unforgiving landscape.
