The last in a series of 8 photos (see below) taken on the River Dour Cleaning Day, Thursday, 21 May 2009.

After spending half-an-hour with the group, I retired to The Park Inn for a coffee. When I left The Park Inn I caught up with some of the volunteers again as they cleared the stretch of the River Dour between the Town Hall car-park and Dover Police Station.

In the top right of the photo you can see part of the Bowling Green foot-bridge where the Lonely Pigeon photo was taken.

From the Conservation Events Page of The White Cliffs Countryside Project:

"The White Cliffs Countryside Volunteers meet 3-4 times a week to carry out practical projects to conserve wildlife and improve footpaths. The Volunteers are a friendly group of local people and new members are welcome at any time. Membership is free and you are not obliged to come out on a regular basis; just to events that interest you. We provide an experienced leader, training, tools, gloves and refreshments."

There's a search box thingy at the bottom left of the Conservation Events Page: just pick the Events Date(s) option to see what the current schedule is.
