Bruino is a municipality in Piedmont - Province of Turin, Italy, located at about 20 km southwest of Turin (Torino). Today the population of Bruino is approximately 8500 and it is growing from day to day.
The "before" you can only hypothesize. However, some elements macrostoria allow credible to believe that the village was born as Bruino Longobardo settlement, around 600 AD, as the root Lombard "BR" remains in the local place name and as the territory of the duchy of Turin arose many rural villages along rivers and streams. Further credibility to this argument is the name of the first family feudatory bruinese the Braja, who derive their name from the ancient Germanic "Breit" Italianized in Braja. In 996 A.C. with the Diploma Ottoni, power on the territory of Bruino passes by Bishop Genzone to the Monastery of San Solver. Then since this period you can find different facts and documents.
In nowadays Bruino is a small city or a big village if you like to call it on this way. It is a small quite city for living with rather big industrial area in surroundings.
