As paredes enegrecidas pelo tempo e o muro secular de granito, são testemunhas mudas da história da Aldeia que por aqui passou.

I was amazed looking through these photos, especially since I found this picture. The house on the top-left(the one with the joints painted) is the house of my father, where my great-grandparents were born and raised as well. I hope you continue taking pictures of here, since I'm not there very often and it's amazing to be able to look through these. By the way, if you can't understand my English, please tell me so I can get my Father to help me translate. Maybe I'll see you this summer there!

I was very pleased to hear from someone who shares the same interest and feelings for the land of our ancestors. Both my parents were born in Aldeia Nova and left to Mozambique in the late 20's and early 30's. My father died there in 1961 and my mother and most of the family turned back to Portugal in 1975. Like you I guess we were born abroad from our parents village and therefore share the same love for the place where our seeds remain. I live in Lisbon and visit AN 2, 3 times a year where I hope to meet you one of these days. If you go down your father's house, turn left and around the corner to the end of the street is João Inocêncio's house. He´s my cousin and I use to stay with him when I visit the village.

My dad would like to know if it isn't too much trouble, since you go often to Aldeia Nova, if you could take some videos of the area and people and post them on youtube. =) And by the way, when you go to grab the famous bread from my aunt's padaria just tell them the family from Canada say Hi and send everyone kisses and hugs. =D

By the way, my dad thinks he knows you. Says you may be the guy who's nickname was Zequita and that you made Jose Augusto's first guitar when he came back from Africa.

I'm expecting to visit Aldeia Nova by the end of August I guess and I will visit your dad. Probably we Know each other because he remembers my name and that episode of the guitar. I will visit your aunt as well. I want to take some more photographs of AN and put the best of them in the Panoramio.
